The Door is recruiting volunteers

The Door is a local charity supporting young people and their families through challenging times. We have over 30 years of experience in supporting people and are now offering our services in Cirencester and the surrounding areas. Through 1:1 mentoring, we can provide a listening ear, a non-judgemental approach and ongoing support through life’s challenges. The role of a mentor is to provide a safe, stable and nurturing relationship with trusted adult over a sustained period of time.

Our services are free of charge and offered to young people between 11-25 years old. Unlike some other services, we can provide mentoring for as long as the young person needs and it is this long term relationship that really helps to support the young person and develop new coping strategies.

We are looking to recruit new volunteer mentors in Cirencester and the surrounding areas. We provide full training but consider that life gives you all the experience you need to be a mentor. As a volunteer, you don’t need any specific experience and we are looking for those who are willing to give their time, walk alongside them and offer support. We will undertake a DBS and carry out an informal interview before starting you on a training course.
